Russia-Afghanistan Forum held in Moscow

On May 14, the Russia-Afghanistan Forum (RAF) was held in Moscow. The Forum is "dedicated to the 90-th anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic relations between Russia and Afghanistan and designed to become an important step towards realization of Russia’s new Afghan policy", according to the press release. The Afghan delegation included a number of ministers of the President’s Executive Office headed by the Vice-President Karim Halili, 25 parliament members, as well as around 60 businessmen. High representatives of Russia's Federal Government, State Duma, and Federation Council were also represented at the summit. The forum was sponsored by Gazprom and Vneshekonombank among others.
